BlackBerry has pulled the switch and is now rolling out its BBM messenger beta app to all Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 users, after the company released it as a closed beta test earlier in July.

Windows Phone 8.1 Preview users will no longer need to downgrade their OS to get Lumia Cyan

Should you still be rocking the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview and are looking to downgrade the operating system to get the full public release and Lumia Cyan, you won't have to carry out this task if you're able to hold on for another week. According to Joe Belfiore on Twitter, Microsoft will be upgrading those on the Developer Preview program to the full Windows Phone 8.1 public release next week.

Amazing makeup inspired by Game of Thrones houses

Makeup Artist Allison Chase has created an amazing set of makeup looks inspired by Game of Thrones.

Chase is no stranger to using makeup and body paint to bring fantasy to life. Her previous creations include an impressive Smaug, an incredibly creepy blue monster for Crypticon, and a Daenerys that will never lose her dragons.

Obviously a fan of Game of Thrones, when Season 4 came to an end she threw herself into this new project as a distraction from the long wait. Chase created unique makeup looks for 9 prominent houses from the series for this recently released photo shoot, and while the makeup alone is stunning, it’s the added details that make these shots even cooler. With a winter rose for the Starks, a golden hand for the Lannisters, an eyepatch for the Greyjoys, and a flayed man that’s a little too convincing, it’s hard to pick a favorite.

For more picture from the shoot, visit Chase’s Facebook page.

Get your custom Xbox One controllers from Controller Modz

The Xbox One is still a pretty new console, and so gamers don't have much in the way of controller choices. If you missed out on the Titanfall Limited Edition controller, you're pretty much stuck with the default black controller until the camouflage version comes along in the ball. How boring is that? Just think of everybody getting their controllers mixed up during Rayman Legends sessions.

Luckily, controller modification specialists Controller Modz are on the scene. The UK-based retailer offers a wide variety of customized controllers for the Xbox One and other consoles. These controllers aren't third-party knocks offs; they're official Microsoft controllers that have been professionally recolored with the customer's choice of design.

In celebration of Controller Modz's latest design (themed after UK gaming site Invision Gaming Community), users can even get ten percent off of their order. And yes, they ship internationally.

Aliens and Farm, an extra-terrestrial game of whac-a-mole

Aliens and Farm is a relatively new game for the Windows Phone platform where you have to save the local farm from invading aliens. To do so, you will have to whack them back into the ground, pond, pigsty and other areas of the farm. Much like you would do in a game of whac-a-mole.

The game pace has a bit of zip and there are a few bonuses you can collect during game play to help you survive the alien onslaught.

Available for 512MB devices, Aliens and Farm may not hold up to marathon gaming sessions but if you're in the mood for something different to pass the time with, Aliens and Farm may not be a bad option.

T-Mobile posts strong Q2 revenue, adds 1.5 million new customers

T-Mobile posted its second quarter earnings today, and the main takeaway is that the carrier is continuing momentum as far as customer acquisition is concerned. The Uncarrier managed to add an additional 1.5 million customers in the second quarter, which makes it the fifth consecutive quarter in which the carrier added more than 1 million subscribers. The number sees T-Mobile crossing 50 million total subscribers for the first time.
