I clicked on a link from Reddit a minute ago, I watched the blank white page and the spinning loading icon in Chrome. Then after about 5 seconds of nothing, I closed the page and forgot about it. This happens often.
Slow load times kill websites. Not slow load times like a minute, slow loads like a few additional seconds. We've become spoiled by an internet that is equal and generally very fast.
When we lose on Net Neutrality, we need to be realistic and realize that a great majority of the pages we visit will now have annoyingly increased load time.
"Nearly half of web users expect a site to load in 2 seconds or less, and they tend to abandon a site that isn’t loaded within 3 seconds."
